Richard Rivale
Richard Rivale is a pianist native to Anaheim, California and currently active in Boston, Massachusetts. From his interest in all classical genres and ensembles, his performances have extended to the organ, harpsichord, and orchestral keyboard instruments, which includes playing the organ in "The Planets" of Gustav Holst at Boston's Symphony Hall. Richard also plays the violin and conducts not only new music premieres, but also concerts that included Bach chorales for the Consulate General of Greece. He has played in or for a masterclass or coaching with Isabel Leonard, John Heiss, and John Harbison. His orchestra experience has extended to the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra under Benjamin Zander and other orchestras under David Robertson and Leonard Slatkin. This summer, he will be an artist pianist at the Carsten Svanberg Trombone Seminar before the Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival. His studies were with Meng-Chieh Liu and Stephen Drury at the New England Conservatory of Music, Jonathan Feldman and Lydia Brown at The Juilliard School, and are with Shiela Kibbe at Boston University, where he is currently a DMA candidate in Collaborative Piano.
