Violinist Rose Baker is a performer and teacher based in Amherst, Massachusetts. As a chamber musician and soloist she has appeared in the Five College New Music Festival in Amherst, Massachusetts, in the Bach Festival and Symposium presented by the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and in recitals in Virginia, New York, and Massachusetts. She also served as concertmaster of the Baroque Aria Ensemble at the Manhattan School of Music, and has performed in orchestras conducted by Leonard Slatkin, Perry So, and Gary Thor Wedow.

Ms. Baker is enthusiastic about teaching young violinists. As an intern at the Opus 118 Harlem School of Music she enjoyed working with students in some of New York City’s public schools. She has also taught privately for many years, and is a teaching assistant at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she enjoys instructing undergraduate students about how to engage with the arts.
Ms. Baker’s principal teachers include Elizabeth Chang, Burton Kaplan, and Joseph J. Nigro. She holds a Bachelor of Music from the Manhattan School of Music and expects to complete graduate studies at the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2022.
