Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival provides some scholarship assistance to qualified students who cannot afford the full cost of tuition. Scholarship awards are determined by the Artistic Director, who takes into consideration the requirements of the program and the financial need of prospective students. As the Festival’s funds are limited, students are encouraged to investigate sources of financial assistance which may be available in their own community.

A student's application to the Festival must be complete (including documentation of financial need) and submitted by March 1, 2021, in order to be considered for a scholarship. As documentation, U.S. citizens should submit the first two pages of the family's or student's most recent tax return, or the Student Aid Report which results from completing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Non-U.S. citizens may download an alternate documentation form to submit their financial information.

Documents may be uploaded to the Scholarship Application form, or mailed to the Festival office:

4132 Snyder Drive
Winston-Salem, NC 27127

Work-study awards

All festival students receiving larger amounts of scholarship will be asked to take on a work-study task of approximately 3 hours per week, and all scholarship applicants are asked about the skills they could offer. However, the Festival does not determine financial aid by filling specific work-study positions paying specific amounts.

Resident Assistant positions

The Festival selects several students each year who are 21 or older to serve as Resident Assistants. RAs will live among younger festival students and handle significant supervisory and driving responsibilities. RAs must be comfortable operating 12-passenger vans. In return, they receive a scholarship award which covers all but $500 of festival tuition. Potential RAs will be required to undergo a background check and to submit a clean driving record in advance of final selection.

RAs will be expected to arrive early to the festival (Thursday, June 24) and stay until mid-afternoon of Monday, July 26. Anyone interested in being considered for an RA position should email a resume and cover letter to Amanda Stenroos including details of related experience, in addition to submitting a complete and timely application to the Festival including a scholarship application.
