How Instruments are Priced with Stamell Stringed Instruments
Matt Stamell, luthier and owner of Stamell Stringed Instruments in Amherst, Massachusetts, gives a talk to GMCMF students about how stringed instruments are priced and the different schools of making: Italian, French, British, German, American, and other countries where instruments are and have been made. The talk will also discuss the different eras of violinmaking: Italy, particularly Brescia and Cremona, in the late 16th and 17th centuries, 18th century in Italy and beyond, up to the present.
