CHAMBER MUSIC

Working and performing with your chamber music ensemble is one of the most significant elements of the Green Mountain experience. We are committed to matching players and personalities with great care, so that every player will enjoy the process of musical growth the program intends to create.

Chamber music placement

Placements are made in early June, once we are certain which students will attend the Festival. Ensemble placements take into consideration your playing level, previous chamber music experience, and age.

Once groups are set up, you will be given contact information for your new colleagues, and the name of your coach. In most cases, you will be communicating with the others in your ensemble to choose a piece, with guidance as needed from the coach and the Artistic Director. You will be responsible for obtaining your own music, and for coming to the Festival with your part well prepared, so your rehearsals will be productive from the beginning.

GMCMF welcomes preformed chamber ensembles to apply to the festival. Each member of the group should submit all necessary application materials by the application deadline. To apply as a group, one member of the ensemble should also email General Manager Amanda Stenroos.

During the festival

There will be an abundance of opportunities for groups to perform, both in the recital hall and in various community venues as part of our Classical Encounters series.
