Junior Program Viola Counselor Job Opportunity

Dates

July 17 – August 3, 2026; counselors arrive July 17 by early afternoon for set-up and depart by late afternoon on August 2. St. Michael’s College, Colchester, VT

Responsibilities

• Oversee the well-being of 24-30 students ages 8-13
• Chaperone students to rehearsals, coachings, and concerts
• Assist with weekend recreational activities and performances
• May be asked to play viola in a group with students and supplement practice

Compensation

• Stipend: $1200
• On-campus housing (private sleeping room within a suite housing Junior Program students)
• Meal plan (three meals per day in the dining hall at St. Michael’s College)

Qualifications

• Background in viola performance (note candidates must be violists)
• Experience working with children ages 8-13
• Strong interpersonal and supervisory skills
• Ability to maintain a safe, supportive environment for young musicians

• Enthusiasm for fostering musical growth and community among students
