Frantz Kjoniksen
Frantz Kjoniksen enjoys a career as both a violinist and a violist. Frantz started playing the violin at the age of 9 through their public school program, and later started learning the viola at the age of 16. They’ve earned both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Violin Performance from UMass Amherst under the guidance of Professor Elizabeth Chang, and are currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with Dr. Salley Koo. Frantz has played with ensembles such as the Keene Chamber Orchestra, Berkshire Symphony Orchestra, Danville Symphony Orchestra and is a current member of the Champaign-Urbana Symphony Orchestra. Frantz also enjoys performing in theatre productions and has performed with companies in New England such as the Berkshire Theatre Group. Frantz serves as Operations Assistant for Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival. Outside of music, Frantz enjoys cooking and being outside in nature.
