BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - Shops and restaurants along Church Street hosted student musicians Saturday as part of the Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival.
Musicians of all ages, from across the country, performed at community events throughout the area. All are students enrolled in a summer classical music program at St. Michael’s College.
Phoenix Books owner Michael DeSanto said the in-store performances benefit both his business and the broader community. “One of the wonderful things about how they do this is people — you can get really close to where the making of the music is coming from. It’s exciting,” he said.
The Quartet Hop is scheduled to return July 18 and 19, and a junior group is set to perform July 31. The festival runs through Aug. 2.
